Al Murabba’a Palace

The Al Murabba’a Palace in Riyadh is one of the most interesting buildings that serve as a vital epitome of Saudi Arabian history and rich cultural past. The Al Murabba’a Palace is now preserved as an important representative of the rich past of the country.

The history of the Al Murabba’a Palace of Riyadh dates back to the early 1900s when the palace was built by orders from King Abdulaziz. This palace was once the private accommodation of the King but now it has been a made a part of Abdulaziz Darat Property. This has been done as an initiative to preserve the rich cultural past of the royal kings. The Al Murabba’a Palace is an interesting place for all young students and enthusiasts who wish to have a glimpse of the life of Arabian royalty in its heydays.

The Al Murabba’a Palace is divided into two floors-- ground floor and upper floor. The ground floor was meant for guards and acted as a store room for foodstuffs, wood, coffee and other items. The upper floor comprises receptions halls and waiting rooms for visitors. This floor also has political department offices and telegram and communication offices.

The Al Murabba’a Palace in Riyadh is open from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 9 pm on a daily basis, except on Saturdays. Women are allowed to enter only with their male family members on all weekdays in the afternoon. There is no admission fee at the Al Murabba’a Palace.
